This is ludicrous. Apprentice flop Raef ‘hair, tie and hanky’ Bjayou is actually dishing out business advice.
I can only assume that he is being paid to do this, and that poor wayward young business owners (who clearly need some form of counselling) are paying money to hear him speak.
Madness. But I have proof! It plopped unceremoniously into my email inbox just yesterday: a press release from Canterbury University suggesting I attend the Flying Start Rally, an event for
graduate entrepreneurs hosted by Mr Banjo, I mean Bjayou, himself.
I understand where they’re coming from. Bjayou was the most lovable participant in 2008’s series of The Apprentice (though that’s not much of an accolade) and is probably the most memorable.
Meaning the 150 seats will likely sell out. But what a shocking start to a career as an entrepreneur! Imagine the damage he could do, the disinformation he could pass through their fragile minds.
“The most important thing in business is a well-cut suit, swiftly followed by matching tie and hanky accessories. Oh yes and a rakish haircut. And a silly posh accent.”
I’m tempted to attend, if only because I’m intrigued how he could possibly kick off his speech: “I came sixth in a television programme called The Apprentice and I’m here to tell you how you can succeed too!”
